Case study · Cloud media storage
MediaVault
Cloud media storage application for organizing and serving uploaded files.
Problem / intended use
A media storage workflow needs a clear separation between application data, user-facing interactions, and durable object storage.
What was implemented
MediaVault brings those concerns together as a full-stack application. The public record currently supports describing the technology choices; detailed product requirements and outcomes remain owner-editable notes.
Architecture and choices
A React client communicates with a Django REST Framework API, with PostgreSQL for relational application data and AWS S3 for media objects.
Trade-offs and open questions
Keeping media objects in object storage instead of the application database is a practical boundary, while the exact upload, authorization, and lifecycle decisions should be documented from the project source before publication.
